Structural Memory

Bamboo and Mixed Media, 2026

This September, my studio at The Lodge opens for Artwave 2026.

The exhibition brings together recent sculpture and installation exploring bamboo as a material of tension, fracture, memory and transformation.

Rather than treating bamboo as a material of craft or sustainability, I cut, crush, split, bind and force it into forms that sit somewhere between construction and collapse.

The studio will include major recent works alongside smaller pieces from the Minor Gods and Reliquary series.

ON VIEW

DIVORCE ENGINE, 2026

Bamboo, wallpaper, rubber
310 × 160 × 180 cm

A large-scale installation emerging from the experience of watching my parents’ divorce — two people locked together while simultaneously tearing themselves apart.

MINOR GODS / RELIQUARY

A group of smaller works combining bamboo with frames, distressed surfaces and found or domestic materials.

Part sculpture, part object and part psychological artefact, they extend the same language of fracture, containment and repair into a more intimate scale.

COMPRESSION FIELDS, 2026

Sculptural works exploring compression, balance and the structural behaviour of bamboo.
