Installations
My installations use bamboo as both structure and language – not simply as a material, but as a way of thinking through balance, tension, vulnerability and connection. Working at architectural scale allows forces, joins and improvisations to remain visible, so the work is encountered physically rather than only as image or representation.
Many of the structures emerge through process rather than fixed design. Forms are developed through cutting, binding, weighting and responding to the behaviour of the material itself. Instability, asymmetry and exposed construction are often retained, allowing the internal logic of the work to remain perceptible rather than hidden behind polished surfaces.
