Ouroboros

Inspired by a 16th-century alchemical emblem and reimagined through digital ornamentation, Chasing Tails explores the cyclical, chaotic pursuit of inner coherence. A wolf, jaguar, and hybrid beast coil endlessly around a central eye—symbol of awareness that sees, but cannot yet escape the loop.

Each creature is adorned in folkloric textiles, suggesting how personal myth and inherited pattern trap us in repetition. The floral background evokes life’s beauty, yet these animals chase not prey, but themselves. This is the ouroboros not as symbol of unity, but of confusion: the psyche spinning in spirals, caught in the nigredo of transformation without clarity.
